DeSlop Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") cover how you install and use the DeSlop browser extension ("DeSlop", "the extension"), which is published by Pineido. Installing or using DeSlop means you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use it.
1. What DeSlop is
DeSlop is a browser extension that runs on your device. It looks at posts already loaded in your own LinkedIn feed and estimates whether each one shows signs of AI writing, then hides the ones that do. All it changes is what you see in your browser. It doesn’t scrape LinkedIn, act on your account, or send your LinkedIn content anywhere.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
- By installing or using DeSlop, you accept these Terms and our License.
- You need to be old enough to form a binding contract where you live and to hold a LinkedIn account.
- If you install DeSlop on a device you don’t own or control, it’s on you to have permission to do that.
3. Free to use, and optional voluntary support
- DeSlop is free to use in full. Every feature, including filtering, personal training, DM hints and focus mode, is available at no charge and does not expire. There is no paid tier and nothing is locked behind a payment.
- You may, if you wish, make a voluntary one-time contribution of $4.99 (USD) through our payment provider to support the project. This contribution is optional and it does not unlock, enable, or grant access to any feature, because every feature is already free to everyone.
- In return for a contribution you receive a "supporter key". The only thing the key does is let you hide the occasional, non-blocking "support us" reminder. It confers no functional benefit and withholds nothing from anyone who does not contribute.
- Because a contribution buys no product, feature, or service, it is a voluntary payment rather than a purchase. We may add, remove, or change the option to contribute at any time.
4. License
Your right to use DeSlop comes from the DeSlop License, which these Terms include by reference. In plain terms, it’s a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the extension for what it’s meant to do. You can’t resell it, sublicense it, reverse-engineer it for republication, or redistribute a modified copy as your own product.
Read the DeSlop License
5. Acceptable use
- Use DeSlop only for what it’s for: filtering your own feed, for yourself.
- Don’t use DeSlop to build or train a competing product, to pass its output off as certified AI detection, or in any way that breaks the law or someone else’s terms.
- Keeping to LinkedIn’s terms is on you. DeSlop is a personal display filter and doesn’t act on your account.
6. AI estimates are not proof
DeSlop guesses how likely it is that a post was AI-generated, based on patterns in the text. Those guesses are rough and can be wrong in both directions. They’re not a ruling that any person or post is fake, fraudulent, or machine-made. DeSlop doesn’t claim any of its calls are accurate. You can undo anything it does, so you stay in control.
7. No warranty
Except for the rights you have under section 9, DeSlop is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Pineido doesn’t warrant that DeSlop will run uninterrupted, stay error-free, or keep working with future versions of any browser or of LinkedIn. It also doesn’t promise to hide every AI post or to never hide a human one.
8. Limitation of liability
Subject to section 9, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Pineido and its affiliates, officers, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, opportunities, or missed content, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use DeSlop, even if advised of the possibility. To the extent liability can be limited, Pineido’s total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid for DeSlop or five US dollars ($5.00).
9. What we never exclude
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for gross negligence or wilful misconduct. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away or reduces the statutory rights you have under the consumer-protection law of the country you live in, and sections 7 and 8 apply only so far as that law allows. Where those laws give you a stronger right than these Terms, that law wins.
9A. Australia: your consumer guarantees
If you are a consumer in Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have DeSlop repaired or replaced if it fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Where DeSlop is supplied to you as a service, for a major failure you may cancel and get a refund for any unused part, plus compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss, and for a failure that is not major you may have it put right within a reasonable time. Nothing in sections 7 and 8 excludes, restricts, or modifies these guarantees, and those sections do not apply to you to the extent that they would.
10. Third-party services and LinkedIn
- DeSlop is an independent product. It’s not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn Corporation. "LinkedIn" is a trademark of its owner.
- Your use of LinkedIn is still governed by LinkedIn’s own agreements. DeSlop doesn’t change your relationship with LinkedIn.
- Paddle acts as our merchant of record and handles your payment under its own terms and privacy policy. Our own license server handles activation and validation of your key.
11. Changes and termination
- We may update DeSlop and these Terms now and then. If a change is significant, we will say so on the DeSlop product page and update the date on these Terms. If you keep using DeSlop after that, it means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using DeSlop and remove it.
- You can stop using DeSlop any time by removing the extension. We may pause the option to contribute, or updates, when we choose to.
- If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them stay in force, and the unenforceable part is treated as changed only as much as is needed to make it enforceable.
12. Who you are contracting with, governing law, and where disputes go
DeSlop and the Pineido brand are operated by Energetika-VDS, a company established at Janko Cvetinov 13, Strumica, North Macedonia. Your contract is with Energetika-VDS (trading as "Pineido"), and you can reach us at contact@pineido.com or at that address. These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of North Macedonia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be heard by the competent courts of North Macedonia. If you are a consumer, this does not take anything away from you: you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country you live in, you can bring proceedings against us in the courts of the country you live in, and we will only bring proceedings against you in those courts. Nothing here stops you from complaining to a consumer authority or using a dispute-resolution body where you live.
